I'm reading this book called Your Brain on Art 🧠✨ (highly recommend, by the way), and the first chapter had me nodding quite a bit. It talks about how making art—not just looking at it—actually helps your brain chill out, reset, and find focus.

And I thought… wait, that's what we do in Zentangle. Drawing a few simple strokes, one at a time. And the next thing you know, you're breathing a little slower, your thoughts get a little quieter, and your nervous system finally says, "Ahhh, thank you."

Zentangle is mindfulness in disguise.

You don't need to meditate. Or be "good at art." You just need to show up and have a good time.

I was cutting beets yesterday (the kind that turns your hands magenta 😉), and I couldn't stop looking at their beautiful color. Since my brain can't not turn everything into art, I had to see what it would look like on paper. Once it was dry, I added some tangles. How fun is that?
